The ISABIAL Simulation and Innovation Laboratory (SimIA) hosts the second edition of the SimGames

Alicante (12.03.23). The ISABIAL Alicante Simulation and Innovation Laboratory (SimIA), together with Anestcritical, has organized the SimGames, a training format that combines traditional educational elements from clinical simulation courses with team‑based workshop competitions. This combination of factors helps healthcare professionals step out of the routine of these increasingly common types of courses and encourages participants to prepare and challenge themselves through the stimulus of competition.
Teams made up of healthcare professionals from Alicante, Albacete and Murcia took part in this activity, facing scenarios involving a patient with a severe infection and a patient with a difficult airway. In addition, participants rotated through scoring stations where they shared their experience in the management of critical patients or took part in an escape room.
The escape room is a new addition to this second edition of the SimGames held in Alicante. Using non‑traditional resources, participants had to enhance their teamwork skills along with other anesthesiology techniques to escape from an operating room.
This course‑competition, organized by Anestric and SimIA, is part of a philosophy focused on achieving training excellence by promoting new formats that adapt to the demands and learning models that are constantly evolving and increasingly moving away from traditional lectures and workshops.
