Joint Action addressing DEmentia and Health (JADE Health)

Project reference number: 101183247
Brief description of the objective or purpose of the grant:

JADE Health is designed to integrate validated good practices and/or cost‑effective interventions across different countries and regions through transnational pilot initiatives, complementing and reinforcing existing policies and programmes. The project takes a holistic approach to the entire pathology, from improving health literacy and raising awareness about dementia, to screening and primary prevention in high‑risk populations, and to the care of people living with dementia or other neurological disorders.

This project will take into account the role of caregivers, family members, and healthcare professionals, improving care pathways and care solutions.

The main objective of the JADE Health Joint Action is to improve and promote health in the EU Member States by reducing the burden of dementia and other neurological disorders and related diseases, both at the social and individual levels. This will be achieved by enhancing the prevention and early detection of these conditions, as well as by strengthening education, knowledge, and understanding among families, professionals, and other stakeholders involved.

This Joint Action will be implemented by 18 EU countries, incorporating good practices through 38 pilots in the participating countries.

The project initiative covers the pathology in its entirety from a holistic perspective, including awareness, prevention, early detection, treatment, and care methods. JADE Health also addresses cross‑cutting and intersectional aspects such as promoting health equity, social, cultural and ethnic diversity, and improving data availability.
