Occupational Risk Prevention

ISABIAL manages Occupational Risk Prevention (ORP) for all its employees in a practical manner, maintaining constant contact with its staff and relying on the support and advisory services of CUALTIS as its External Prevention Service. To understand how the Institute manages prevention matters, the Prevention Plan is available, which outlines the organizational structure of ISABIAL.

Initially, when each employee joins their position, they complete the Employee Record Form along with the rest of the documentation required to begin their work activity.

Despite the wide variety of tasks carried out by the Institute’s staff, all of them have been grouped into three job positions that have already been assessed according to the risks identified in each evaluation: the positions of Research Staff, who are mainly located on the different floors of the main building of the Alicante General University Hospital, although also in the Diagnostics Center building; the positions of Research Support Technicians involved in the various ongoing projects, most of whom are located on the different floors of the main building of the Alicante General University Hospital and also, although to a lesser extent, in the Grey Building and in the Diagnostics Center; and the positions of management staff, who are located in the Grey Building and in the Diagnostics Center (floors 3, 5, and 6).

Every three months, the ISABIAL Health and Safety Committee, made up of staff elected by and from among the workers, meets to address the various issues that concern employees in relation to occupational risks. These regular meetings take place every three months.

In the event that an accident occurs during working hours or in itinere, the necessary safety measures are implemented to safeguard the workers’ safety and to prevent any potential future risk.

The Alicante General University Hospital (HGUA) is responsible for preparing and updating the Emergency Plan, which is available to all employees on the hospital’s intranet.

For the protection of particularly sensitive workers (pregnant or breastfeeding employees, or workers with any other sensitivity), the Action Protocol for the Protection of Particularly Sensitive Workers is applied.

At the end of each contractual year with the External Prevention Service, the Annual Report is prepared, reflecting the actions carried out during the year.
