- The Alicante Institute for Health and Biomedical Research (ISABIAL) opens its doors to 2nd‑year Baccalaureate students
- Students take part in activities at SimIA and learn about the work carried out at the Research Support Laboratory
Alicante (23.03.23). The Alicante Institute for Health and Biomedical Research (ISABIAL) welcomed students from IES Mutxamel as part of the European project Mednight GTS. On March 22, students visited several areas of the research center, including the Alicante Simulation and Innovation Laboratory (SimIA) and the Research Support Laboratory.
Specifically, around twenty students, currently in their second year of Baccalaureate, took part in the activity “Put Yourself in My Shoes”, which aims to bring research closer to society—especially young people—in an engaging, interactive and dynamic way. In addition, ISABIAL highlights through these actions the importance of promoting inclusive and balanced gender role models, as well as the need to awaken scientific vocations.
During the visit, students participated in a role‑exchange activity and took on the roles of ISABIAL staff at SimIA, while at the Research Support Laboratory they had the opportunity to talk with ISABIAL research personnel. Scientists and technicians explained some of the research currently being carried out at the Alicante center.
MEDNIGHT GTS is a project associated with the European Union initiative “European Researchers’ Night”, funded by the Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Actions, under the call identifier HORIZON‑MSCA‑2022‑CITIZENS‑01 (MSCA‑CITIZENS‑2022).
