Awards
The special prizes awarded by ISABIAL’s Research Committee were divided into two categories. One recognized intra-institutional collaboration in 2023 and was awarded to the publication presented by nursing researcher Eva María Trescastro. The researcher presented the NUTRIFAG project, which evaluated the risk of malnutrition and nutritional status at admission and its progression up to discharge in patients over 65 years of age admitted to medical-surgical hospitalization units.
The second special award recognized the highest-quality publication and was awarded ex aequo to the publication presented by Carolina Mangas, who has studied whether the use of Artificial Intelligence can help increase colorectal cancer diagnoses, and to Celia Villodre for a study analyzing the use of laparoscopy in appendicitis procedures.
