The Primary Care Directorate of the Alicante Health Department – General Hospital, together with the Alicante Institute for Health and Biomedical Research (ISABIAL) and the support of Lilly, are organising an update workshop on obesity management under the slogan “Transforming obesity into health opportunities” on 2 June 2026, at the auditorium of Alicante General University Hospital Doctor Balmis.
During the workshop, a multidisciplinary update on obesity will be provided, addressing it as a chronic and stigmatised disease that requires comprehensive care.
In addition, specialists in Cardiology, Pulmonology, Bariatric Surgery, Internal Medicine and Nephrology will share their perspectives on the consequences of adiposity on different organs and systems, highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary work to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients with obesity.
