Balmis Afternoons

Organized by: the Hospital Pharmacy Service of Dr. Balmis General University Hospital and the Alicante Institute for Health and Biomedical Research.

Date: During 2026, sessions will be held on the first Wednesday of each month, except in January, when it will take place on the second Wednesday, on the 14th.

Addressed to: Hospital Pharmacy professionals, with special emphasis on residents, but open to any hospital pharmacist and other professionals interested in the field.

On the first Wednesdays of each month, pharmacy residents will meet in the assembly hall of Dr. Balmis General University Hospital to generate a space for learning, updating, and reflection on current and relevant topics in the specialty, where key areas of Hospital Pharmacy will be addressed.

These sessions aim to become an open meeting point where residents and specialists can share experiences, discuss current challenges, and explore new perspectives in key areas of Hospital Pharmacy, with the following objectives:
  • Promote continuous learning and scientific updating.
  • Encourage collaboration between residents and professionals from different centers.
  • Consolidate knowledge and develop essential skills for clinical practice.
  • Offer an accessible and welcoming space for the entire Hospital Pharmacy community.
In addition, these meetings represent a unique opportunity to broaden perspectives, generate constructive debate and strengthen the professional network of the specialty in the province of Alicante.
