CDTI – Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation NEOTEC Programme 2026

Grants aimed at small innovative companies (with a maximum age of three years), intended to finance the launch of new business projects that require the use of technology or knowledge developed through research activities, and whose business strategy is based on technological development. In this call, proposals that include the full‑time, permanent hiring of individuals holding a doctoral degree will receive higher funding intensity, provided that such hiring is relevant to ensuring the viability of the proposed business plan.

Budget: the call has a total allocation of €20,383,300, with a maximum of €325,000 per beneficiary. A minimum of €5,000,000 will be reserved for companies led by women.

ALFONSO MARTÍN ESCUDERO FOUNDATION – FUNDAME FELLOWSHIPS FOR RESEARCH IN UNIVERSITIES AND CENTRES ABROAD

The purpose of this call is to award 30 fellowships to carry out research work in universities and research centres abroad, in topics falling within any of the following areas:

  • Agriculture and livestock
  • Marine sciences

Applicant requirements:

  • Spanish nationality.
  • Hold a doctoral degree (PhD) from any Spanish university, or a recognised medical or health‑science specialty qualification (MIR, BIR, FIR, PIR, QIR or RFIR) by the time the fellowship is awarded (late September 2026). If the applicant holds a degree from a foreign university, official validation or recognition of the qualification in Spain must be provided.
  • Be admitted to a university or research centre abroad for the requested period.
  • Have a good command of the language of the host country or, alternatively, of the language used in the research centre and working group.

Important information:

  • Relocation and settlement allowance of a total amount of €3,100.
  • Travel assistance insurance arranged by the Alfonso Martín Escudero Foundation and, where applicable, any insurance required by the host institution.
  • Monthly allowance ranging from €2,000 to €3,600, depending on the host country.

FUNDACIÓ LA MARATÓ DE TV3 — CALL FOR THE AWARDING OF FINANCIAL AID FOR CANCER RESEARCH PROJECTS – MARATÓ 2025

The purpose of this call is to promote the development of excellent scientific research on etiological, pathogenic, pathophysiological, clinical, therapeutic, epidemiological, preventive, public health, and healthcare service aspects, with cancer as the central focus of the projects.

Only projects with different principal investigators as beneficiaries will be accepted, and therefore different subprojects, which will be represented by one of the beneficiaries and by the institution where the research is carried out. This beneficiary will act as the liaison (coordinating principal investigator) with the Fundació and will channel all corresponding communications. The number of subprojects within a project may not be increased beyond those included in the initial proposal.

The Fundació La Marató de 3Cat will allocate the €9.7 million raised in its latest edition to fund cancer research projects selected for their scientific excellence through an international evaluation process.

Thanks to public generosity, since 1992 La Marató has supported 1,084 research projects involving more than 11,700 professionals, making a decisive contribution to advances in health and to improving people’s quality of life and life expectancy.

Funding: The amount of financial aid may not exceed €300,000 for projects involving two groups. For projects with three or more participating groups, the maximum amount that can be funded is €400,000.

Under no circumstances may participating teams (individually) request more than €200,000. The awarded amount will include an allocation corresponding to 25% of the total funding, designated for the institution where the researcher carries out their work (hereinafter, “the institution”), to support and promote research and innovation activities (overheads).

ASSOCIATION OF CDKL5 AFFECTED INDIVIDUALS (AACDKL5). 2026 CDKL5 RESEARCH GRANT CALL

The purpose of this call is to promote the development of research in the field of rare diseases through the funding of predoctoral and postdoctoral research projects.

The purpose of these grants is to fund high‑quality predoctoral and/or postdoctoral projects aimed at addressing unmet needs identified through very close collaboration with affected individuals, their representatives, and families; the validation in daily clinical practice of technologies, biomarkers, and Precision Personalised Medicine procedures; as well as projects focused on designing such mechanisms and their subsequent validation in healthcare settings. All of this must fall within the field of rare diseases, epileptic encephalopathies, Xq23‑related disorders, neurodevelopmental diseases and/or genetic diseases, with particular emphasis on CDKL5 Deficiency Disorder.

AECC SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATION – SPANISH ASSOCIATION AGAINST CANCER. IMPACT AGAINST CANCER NETWORK GRANTS 2026

This call aims to establish collaborative networks that advance knowledge, promote equity, and give a voice to people affected by cancer by funding projects that provide a collective, coordinated, and person‑centred response to cancer in the areas of “More Cancer Data” and “Patients with a Voice”.

Funding: the call has a total budget of €1.5M, of which up to €200,000 will be allocated to each “More Cancer Data” project, and between €100,000 and €150,000 to “Patients with a Voice” projects.

AECC – SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATION OF THE SPANISH ASSOCIATION AGAINST CANCER. AECC CHAIRS GRANTS 2026

Grants to fund training, outreach, and/or knowledge‑generation activities aimed at improving humanisation in cancer prevention, in the care of oncology patients, and in their well‑being. These activities must be carried out at universities or Spanish healthcare institutions linked to Spanish universities, whether public or private.
