ISABIAL is a biomedical, multidisciplinary, and translational research space focused on basic, clinical, and epidemiological research, as well as health services. Our mission is to improve the quality of biomedical research in Alicante by collaborating with researchers and research groups, including Primary Care, from the Alicante-Hospital General Health Department, the University of Alicante (UA), and the Miguel Hernández University (UMH).
Created on May 18, 2015, through an agreement between the Generalitat, the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, the University of Alicante, and FISABIO, ISABIAL has evolved significantly. On January 1, 2020, it began its independent operation and acquired its own legal personality after completing its full spin-off from FISABIO.
On February 12, 2020, ISABIAL was accredited by the Carlos III Health Institute, consolidating its position as a leader in health and biomedical research.
Throughout its history, ISABIAL has promoted scientific excellence through interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in research. Our commitment is to continue advancing scientific knowledge and its application to improve the health and well-being of the population.
